Unit Description

Z-Duct is the original Des Champs Technologies product. There is no equal in the marketplace. Thirty years of experience result in the best possible plate heat-exchanger for you. Whether packaged in a Des Champs unit or applied as a stand-alone plate heat exchanger, the Z-Duct will reduce cooling requirements in the summer and reduce heating requirements in the winter.

Adding Z-Duct allows for the introduction of more outdoor ventilation air without overloading the HVAC system. Z-Duct plate heat exchangers are extremely low-leakage and extremely high energy-transfer devices.

Pressure drop is minimized and heat-transfer maximized by dimples in the plates which separate the plates.

The continuous fold construction of Z-Duct reduces or eliminates sealing between plates, which means less potential for leakage between air streams.

Cross-flow heat-exchangers cannot equal the Z-Duct. Multiple flow configurations are available, as seen in the airflow diagram to the left. (arrows indicate outdoor and exhaust air streams and units may placed in almost any orientation)
